I have always suggested 3 looks for your boudoir shoots: a casual outfit such as the tank top or oversized sweater with a pair of panties, a bra and panty set, and the white bed sheet. Today I’m going to propose a few alternatives that if you are new to boudoir, you might not have thought of as “boudoir” outfits.

Jeans

That's right your favorite pair of jeans can make an excellent outfit for your boudoir shoot. They would count towards the casual outfit that I recommend as one of the three looks for your shoot. Ideally you will want these to hug your curves to help highlight the shape of the body.

Dress

The dress is an excellent outfit for boudoir due to its feminine nature. I’ve seen women rock little black dresses as well as sun dresses for their shoots. It all depends on your personal preference and the look you want for your images. If however, you prefer something a little more glitzy and glamorous why not try a more formal style like the photo above.

Body Jewelry

An outfit I’ve been seeing more and more lately is body jewelry such as a metal or rhinestone bikini, skirt, or top. I have to admit when I first saw these years ago I would have never thought to use one in a shoot. It wasn’t until seeing them again more recently that I realized their potential. Here are a couple of examples of this type of outfit I found on Amazon: bikini & body chain.

Final Thoughts

As you can see, you don’t have to stick to the outfits you would normally associate with boudoir. Remember, the goal with boudoir is to help a woman to embrace her natural beauty and sexuality. If you can do that in a pair of jeans, why not? Also, did you notice the fourth outfit suggestion I had at the very beginning?
